Steven appeared in the 2012 music video for Above and Beyond's On My Way to Heaven, and also provided vocals for the Top 20 1997 N-Trance hit The Mind of the Machine. The lyric "I'm scared of Steven Berkoff" can be heard in the Brian May song I'm Scared (1993). In 2002, Steven was deported from the USA for staying one day longer than his visa allowed back in 1997. Steven is also a seasoned playwright and theatre director, with a unique style - for example, in 1988 he directed an interpretation of Oscar Wilde's Salome performed in slow motion. In 1996, he won a libel case against outspoken journalist Julie Burchill, who claimed he was "hideously ugly".
